The movie-going experience will never be the same again following the horrific shooting that happened in Aurora, Colorado during the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. A gunman randomly opened fire in a movie theater claiming many fatalities. Among the injured were 3 Indonesian citizens: Anggiat M. Situmeang, 45, who suffered a bruise on his left eye, his wife Rita Paulina Silalahi, 45, who had injuries to her arms and legs, and their son Prodeo Et Patria Situmeang, who was shot in the lower back.

Christian Bale Paid Visit to Victims of Colorado Shooting
Christian Bale surprised the victims of the Aurora, Colorado shooting incident, which happened on Tuesday (July 24th), by visiting them at the Medical Center of Aurora.
According to a spokesperson from Warner Bros., the Batman actor made this trip on his own accord and did not represent his company. Christian Bale was accompanied by his wife, Sibi Blazic, and they spent two and a half hours at the hospital, visiting the seven shooting victims injured during the midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” movie.
One of the victims Christian Bale visited was Carey Rottman, who had his picture taken with “Batman” and uploaded onto his Facebook page.
“Wow!!! Thank you so much for the visit Christian!! What a great guy! Still in shock!” wrote Carey.
Christian Bale reportedly arrived at the hospital with his wife in an ambulance. In addition to meeting the shooting victims, they also took the time to chat with several doctors, policemen and first-aid paramedics who were the first to arrive at the scene of the shooting.
“It was good for the patients. We hope it was therapeutic for them, and all the staff really appreciated him coming,” said Bill Voloch, president of the Aurora hospital.
In a statement released Saturday, Christian Bale said, “Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”
As many as 12 people were killed and 50 others injured in this shooting incident.
Comments from Yahoo Indo:
Wow, Mr. Bale is so cool. Our local celebrities would’ve invited Infotainment [Indonesian media to be present for publicity]… Good job!
During the premiere of Hj.Roma Irama [an Indonesian movie], I fell into a gutter and injured my head but Bang Roma [the movie actor] did not bother to visit me. Just my luck.
Simple but an effective action for healing… Love you Bale
Restu Maharsi Jati:
Like the real Batman…
How come he’s not wearing his Batman costume?
I felt deeply sympathetic and I’m glad people have positive reactions. This is a super good news.
Hopefully the hospital bills will be cheaper too.
If it was Indonesia, presidential candidates would use this opportunity to get publicity and make into the newspapers…
Rei: (responding to above)
True, especially near the presidential election date.
A wonderful but true story.
The victim looks more handsome than Batman :p
Handsome, kind-hearted, his wife is so lucky.
I also want Christian to visit me! But hopefully not because of any shooting… :D
Finally Batman pays a visit to Joker’s victims.
What do you think? Were you impressed by Christian Bale’s visit?
