From Yahoo Indonesia:
Jimmy Gunawan Likes The iPhone 5S AirDrop Feature
Apple’s latest mobile phones, the iPhones 5S and 5C, were available for purchase starting Friday, 20 September 2013. Their sales have been conducted in a number of countries worldwide. Of all nations, Australia was declared the first country to sell the latest iPhone products. It was noted that the first buyer of the new iPhone 5S in the world was Jimmy Gunawan, an Indonesian citizen who works as a computer animator over there.
This 33-years-old male had already started queuing at 12am midnight in front of the Apple Store located on George Street in Sydney’s CBD, east Australia. Jimmy only equipped himself with a bottle of mineral water and a thick jacket to keep himself warm from the cold weather in Sydney.
From the beginning, Jimmy preferred the 5S version over the 5C because it has more complete features. After having endured the long queue, Jimmy bought two iPhone 5S in the gold color which cost USD $2000 or approximately Rupiah 22 million. After exploring a variety of features in the iPhone 5S, Jimmy said that the AirDrop feature is his favorite.
“AirDrop … because it allows people to share photos and videos with one another very easily,” he said on news.com shortly after trying our his new iPhone 5S.
He tortured himself for the sake of pride and prestige =(
This guy is so persistent in order to be famous. Geez.
This is not surprising for Indonesians. LOL…
For whatever reasons, I don’t feel proud of the fact that an Indonesian bought the first iPhone =(
So what if he was the first person to get it?
Did that guy take a shower or go to the washroom? Did he really spend all his time lining up for an iPhone?
Everyone has moved on to Samsung but he still uses Apple… he’s so outdated.
Do you think the last buyer of the iPhone 5s will be in the media too?
This is so Indonesian, most of them have high consumerism mentality..
For all commenters, why don’t you leave him alone? It’s his money so don’t feel too negative towards him.
Well, most Indonesians are rich so they have no problem waiting for 20 hours [doing nothing]!!
Holy shit, I can buy a motorcycle instead of buying 2 iPhones!
Such an accomplishment. Your mom must be so proud of you, son!
He must have worn pampers when lining up for 20 hours.
Have you ever lined up for hours to purchase something?
